Merellinen Oulu ry and m/s Oulu

Since 2007, Merellinen Oulu has been keeping Oulu’s maritime heritage alive — and inviting others to experience it with us. As a non-profit association, we bring together people who share a love for the sea, local history, and the unique maritime spirit of Oulu.

Our community includes maritime professionals, passionate enthusiasts, and curious landlubbers alike. What unites us is a shared mission: to celebrate, preserve, and share the history of maritime Oulu.

At the heart of our activities is our beloved ship, m/s Oulu — a classified heritage vessel with room for up to 35 passengers. Registered in the Finnish Heritage Agency’s heritage vessel register, m/s Oulu is in excellent condition and fully seaworthy, ready even for multi-day voyages at sea. With more than 60 years of history behind her, she offers a memorable way to discover Oulu from the water.
